Think about which type of learning suits you best. Most people are primarily auditory, visual or active learners. If you memorize things by hearing them, you are probably an auditory leaner. If you prefer to look at images or pictures, you are probably a visual learner. If you like to learn by doing activities, you are most likely an active learner.
Prepare flash cards with proverbs written on one side and the name of the proverb on the other side. Regardless of your learning style, flash cards can be helpful for memorization. Go over the flash cards a few times per day to optimize memorization.
Listen to proverbs on CDs if you think you are an auditory learner. Put the CDs in your car while driving or listen to them while at home. Repeat the proverbs after the CD says them. If you cannot find CDs with the proverbs that you want to memorize, make your own. Record proverbs onto a voice recorder and replay often so that you can memorize them.
Read proverbs that are printed out or written in a book if you think that you are primarily a visual learner. Read them over a few times per day for maximum effect. Try reading them out loud occasionally so that you activate a different part of your brain.
Write the proverbs repeatedly in a notebook if you are an active learner. This repetition will help you to memorize the proverbs quickly and easily. Try writing each one twice in a row, two or more times per day until you can write them easily without looking at them first.
