Create a list of your aspirations and goals in a journal starting with the most easily attainable and finishing with the ones that will take some time to manifest. Beside each goal in your list write down the steps you believe you will have to take to reach a successful conclusion. Add every detail even if some of them seem obvious. In other words, if you have to call someone in order to fulfill an aspiration, record not only their name and phone number, but position if they work for a company.
Choose which of your aspirations you'd like to begin manifesting. If one of your goals is to buy a new vehicle, with the information you've recorded in your journal it should be an easy task to go to the dealer and cruise away with your new ride. However, once at the dealership you're faced with a multitude of choices, offers and even disappointments that you couldn't have anticipated even with meticulous research. You have the choice at this moment to either walk away and set your aspiration on the back burner, or you can learn to adjust your aspiration in the moment and drive away with a lower priced car with better features.
Take advantage of an unexpected glitch in your carefully laid plans to adjust your aspiration. Ask yourself whether being so set in your mind is holding you back from considering other paths. Let's say your goal is to become a doctor. You already know that you're going to devote a decade or more in training. You also have an idea that you want to practice family medicine, but after graduating discover that your town has been overrun with new physicians. You can open a practice and hope for a boom in growth or you can consider relocating to a place somewhere in the world where doctors are in short supply and sorely needed.
