Qualified candidates must meet the minimum requirements of having a registered nursing or licensed practical nursing license that is in good standing with the state of Indiana. Qualified candidates must also have licensed nursing experience of at least two years. At least one of the required two years of experience must be spent working at a long-term care facility.
Qualified candidates must attend a two-day nurse aide instructor training course for a total of 12 1/2 hours of training. This training is offered only four times a year and generally costs about $250. After completing the seminar, you will become certified to train CNAs. However, a vocational teacher's license could serve as a substitute for the required training.
