Life Insurance Schools in California

According to the California Department of Insurance, applicants for a California life insurance agent license must complete at least 20 hours of training (plus an additional 20 hours of accident and health pre-license training), complete a 12-hour course on the California insurance code and ethics, and pass a test. Practicing life insurance agents must complete 24 hours of continuing education and four hours of ethics training in each two-year license term. A number of schools in California offer online and classroom training for life insurance agents.

For students who have already completed training and need more help before taking the licensing exam, several "Life Agent Cram Courses" are available that cover key questions and answers, the psychology of the exam, updates from the exam and study techniques. Quick Learning School provides continuing education classes in topics such as annuities, Series 6, "Comparisons of Life Insurance Policies" and ethics. Classroom courses are scheduled for daytime, evening and weekend hours. The school also offers online options.
