There are a variety of different certifications available online for daycare and early-childhood education workers. These range from diplomas and Child Development Associate certification credentials to state instructional certificates.
Online daycare certification training allows the students to learn at their own pace in the convenience of the home. Although students typically must adhere to specific time frames for graduation, classes may be taken to accommodate work schedules and family commitments.
When enrolling in an online daycare certification program, students should first look at the school's credentials. These should then be compared to the student's needs or an employer's requirements. Some schools offer an online Certificate in Daycare or Early Childhood Education. This is not the same as certification. Certification applies to a specific credential such as a Child Development Associate (CDA) or state instructional license.
Online certification programs demand a certain level of discipline on the part of the student. If you feel that you can't commit to finishing assignments, staying on task, or possibly even arranging a daycare field work site, a web-based program may not be the right fit.
