Free Bible Teaching Schools

Missionaries, preachers and evangelists from around the world rely on courses to learn biblical theology and practical skills as they teach others about the Bible. The Bible is a constant source of learning, but paying for a college tuition is impossible for many people that feel called to teach the Word. Several schools throughout the United States offer courses online and through the mail with no tuition costs. The free courses are not accredited; however, students can move on in their learning through the paid accredited programs offered by some of the schools.
  1. Pillar of Truth Bible Institute

    • At the Pillar of Truth Bible Institute, the King James Version Bible is used for the entirety of the first 15 courses. After that, only a few textbooks are required. The Institute prides itself on offering the free classes to anyone willing to learn. Some of the courses include biblical ethics, counseling and stewardship. A thorough examination of the books of the Bible are taught before students move on to the second part of the course, which involves church leadership, the New and Old Testament and much more.

The non-denominational courses can be taken online or through the mail.

    Online Bible College

    • Online courses are available through many colleges.

Based in Australia and Uruguay, the Online Bible College has a vision of reaching millions of people around the world and equipping them to teach about Christ to others. The non-denominational organization formed in 1998 and currently trains in the English, Spanish and Chinese languages. The courses focus on biblical studies and practical ministry, such as learning to know God and high value living. Students will receive a certificate of completion at the end of the studies, though the courses are not accredited. Those wishing to obtain an accredited degree from OCB must pay a small fee for each course.

    AMES International School of Ministry

    • Students can continue their education through paid colleges and universities.

The AMES International School of Ministry, affiliated with AMES Christian University, offers a free 22 course program covering the Old and New Testament, Bible study methods, environmental analysis, management methods and teaching tactics, among others. Many of the students are pastors in desolate areas, military personnel and people wanting to enter the missionary field. At the end of the course, students are given a certificate of completion.

    BiblicalTraining.org

    • Three types of courses are available at BiblicalTraining.org: courses for beginners learning about their new spiritual journey, lay training, which the school recommends for those in church leadership; and biblical training, a full-seminary load of classes. The courses are free, but to obtain the certificate, a one-time nominal fee is required. Many of the courses cover both the New and Old Testament, the life of Christ, ethics, world views and an introduction to other religions. Courses in ministry skills are also available for those training to preach in the church. BiblicalTraining.org does not offer the courses for credit, but for training within the church and individually.
