How to Pass a Math Course When You Have Not Had a Math Class in 30 Years

Congratulations on your decision to return to school to further your education. You may be scared that you may not be as good at math as you used to be, but with the right help and the right direction, you can succeed. Going back to school is a tough decision to make for anyone at any age. Furthering your education, especially in math, is required in many jobs like nursing, engineering, accounting, veterinary medicine and even fast food. If you are determined to dedicate time and effort, you can pass your math course even if you have not picked up a textbook in years.

Some professors will give you their phone number so you can text them for help if you need it. Ask your teacher if you can bring a tape recorder to class. Record the class and replay it if needed.

      Purchase math-tutoring CDs. You will find these very helpful as they help correct your errors and show you the correct way to create your formula, equation or answer.

      Join a virtual math class. These websites offer online learning and are just like having the teacher right there with you. You can replay videos if you missed something, pause and rewind just like with any video.
