Bridgestone Winter Driving School teaches Colorado drivers how to drive safely on snow and ice. The school offers courses for new winter drivers (Second Gear program), drivers who wish a winter refresher (First Gear program) and corporate training classes (Sixth Gear program). The Sixth Gear program can be tailored to meet the needs of any corporation from skills training to team building. Swerve Driving School in Seattle, Washington, offers a program called "Winter Reality Check" that teaches students how to drive in adverse weather conditions including hard rain.
D&D Driving School hosts special courses on winter driving skills. The driving teacher will pick the student up and drive the student to a parking lot for practice. The student will practice winter driving in the parking lot, covering braking and acceleration techniques and discuss the importance of vehicle maintenance. Students may opt for a one day skills training course, a two day winter driving evaluators course or a two day winter driving rally course.
Team O'Neill Rally and Car Control Center hosts a winter driving school on Saturdays and Sundays during the winter months. The course emphasizes practice to improve reaction time and learn personal and vehicle limitations. Courses are taught on a specially designed hazards track that includes a skid pad, safety braking zone and obstacle avoidance area.
Porshe offers an Ice Training driving school in Finland and Austria. The program has also been offered in Vail, Colorado and Quebec, Canada. The program is for Porshe drivers only and is provided through the Porshe Travelers Club. Courses are offered at the precision, performance and master level to accommodate a variety of driving strengths.
