The University of Georgia offers a wide range of organizations for students. The Center for Student Organizations at UGA registers more than 600 student organizations annually. There are a variety of interests represented including international and multicultural organizations, sports clubs and intramurals, religious organizations and academic honor societies.
The University of Georgia has 59 national Greek fraternities and sororities. Greek life at UGA is self-governed through the Interfraternity Council, the National Pan-Hellenic Council, the Multicultural Greek Council and the Panhellenic Council. These groups coordinate activities and programs for their member organizations and implement regulations and policies.
Student Government Association (SGA) at the University of Georgia serves as a liaison between the student body and the school's administration. The SGA's primary goal is to protect the rights of students and to advocate on their behalf. The SGA consists of three branches: executive, legislative and judicial. Each branch works together to achieve the goals of the SGA.
Volunteer UGA provides students with the opportunity to participate in community service. It was formed in 2004 as the volunteer center for the university. Volunteer UGA connects students with opportunities to volunteer in the Athens community and throughout the region.
