How to Take out a Perm

Some of us who get a perm realize that it doesn't look the way we thought it would. Once you have received a perm, the only way to fully remove it is to let the permed hair grow out. However, you can permanently straighten the hair to remove the curl, although it will not give back your pre-permed hair. The following is a way to straighten the perm back out.

Things You'll Need

  • Perm solution

Instructions

    • 1

Wrap a towel around your neck and place a plastic cape over it to protect your neck and clothing.

    • 2

Apply the entire bottle of perm solution to your hair. Take the comb and comb the hair straight while the perm solution is processing. This will break down the hair bond and remove the curl.

    • 3

Apply entire bottle of neutralizer to hair and comb straight again. This will reform the hair bonds in the now straightened position.

    • 4

Shampoo and throughly condition the hair.
