At over $15,000, the Stuyvesant Park Residence at Eugene Lang is the priciest room and board cost in the nation. Stuyvesant is primarily a freshman residence hall and is very close to the heart of Greenwich Village. The dorm is the newest and the largest of them all on campus, and comes equipped with several shared spaces, a full gym, a music practice area, an art room and a study hall.
The Unit 1 dorms at Berkeley are also priced at over $15,000 for room and board. A meal plan is automatically added to your housing fees at UC Berkeley. Unit 1 is conveniently located only one block from campus and houses 1,426 students, the highest number in any dorm at the university. There are four high-rise halls with both co-ed and single-gender floors. The residence is centered around a wide courtyard, with buildings nearby that house the office, mail room, meeting rooms and the Academic Services Center.
Over $14,600 is what you'll pay at Suffolk University for room and board; students here are required to be on a meal plan. On the upside, the dorms are very close to the main campus and have expansive views of the city of Boston. Another convenience is a dining commons located in each residence hall, instead of a communal one for several resident houses. The rooms are pre-wired for phone service, satellite television and wireless internet service.
At Fordham University, a student will pay $14,614 for room and board. There are a lot of perks, though, for this price. McMahon Hall, the main dorm, has fully furnished two- or three-bedroom apartments, complete with kitchen appliances and living room and bedroom furniture. It also has around-the-clock security, common lounges for study and socializing, three laundry rooms, tennis and basketball courts and a fitness center. Fordham is right in the center of Manhattan and just minutes from Central Park.
