- 1/2 cup dried Irish moss
- 4 cups water
- Sweetener of your choice (honey, maple syrup, etc.)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
Instructions:
1. Rinse the Irish moss thoroughly under cold water.
2. Place the Irish moss and water in a large saucepan.
3. Bring to a boil over medium heat, then reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes, or until the Irish moss has softened and the liquid has thickened.
4. Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a large bowl.
5. Add the sweetener, vanilla extract, and cinnamon to the bowl and stir until combined.
6. Let cool completely, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
7. Serve chilled.
Tips:
- To make a smooth drink, you can blend the mixture in a blender or food processor before refrigerating.
- You can also add other flavors to your Irish moss drink, such as lemon zest, ginger, or mint.
- Irish moss drink can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
