Get help from your professor. Visit during his office hours to discuss certain concepts you are struggling with and during class take notes so you can refer to them later on your own time. Also ask your professor if he has study guides that you can have for further study.
Get books on the Latin language. When you visit the library or bookstore, ask the clerk for materials that specifically give easy-to-understand and detailed instructions on how to understand Latin. For example, if you are taking a French course and you want to learn basic Latin in order to better understand French, seek out books that teach how to do this.
Meet with a tutor on or off-campus. Tell the tutor what areas of Latin you are struggling with and arrange to get lessons once or twice a week until you improve. During your meetings, ask as many questions as possible and take notes so you can study them at a later time. Finally, ask the tutor for recommendations of any other resources that you can use in order to improve, such as websites, audiotapes or DVDs.
