Why does Yale College claim to have invented frisbee?
Yale College does not claim to be the inventor of frisbee. The origin of frisbee can be traced back to the 19th century when several different types of flying discs were being used for recreational purposes in the United States. The first known use of the term "frisbee" dates back to 1871 when students at Yale threw tin pie plates around campus. However, it was not until the 1940s that the modern frisbee was developed by Walter Frederick Morrison and Warren Franscioni, two students at the University of Southern California.
