ITT Institute is a national trade school with more than 100 campuses throughout the United States. The lone San Diego campus is located near the northern edge of the city limits, but there's also a learning center in the north San Diego County city of Vista. ITT's San Diego branch consists of five schools and offers associates and bachelor's degrees in information technology, drafting, criminal justice, electronics and business. It does not offer courses in health services as some other ITT campuses across the U.S. do.
The San Diego branch of the Art Institute of California is a design, culinary arts and media arts school that awards associate's and bachelor's degrees in advertising, culinary arts, graphic design, web design, interactive media and other fields. The school, which operates on the quarter system, offers programs year-round. The NewSchool of Architecture & Design is a 30-year-old hands-on instructional institute with undergraduate and graduate degrees in the architectural and design fields. It operates on a quarterly system, and each quarter is 10 weeks long.
Fashion Careers College (FCC) is a private, post-secondary business school focused on providing a college-level education to students seeking careers in the fashion industry. FCC, which is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges & Schools, was founded in 1979. The only fashion-only trade school in San Diego, it offers two-year specialized associate degrees, as well as program certificates, in fashion design and technology and fashion business and technology.
The San Diego campus of the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, located in the city's Mission Valley area, is dedicated to teaching students how to become providers of healthcare that's centered around East Asian medicine. The San Diego campus is a 27,000-square-foot facility that consists of 11 classrooms, a library and a professional acupuncture clinic with 28 treatment beds and an herbal pharmacy. It's one of three locations for the school, with the others being in New York and Chicago.
Bartending Academy San Diego is a 25-year-old trade school that provides instruction in making drinks as well as related areas, such as standard food and beverage industry practices, industry jargon, bar equipment, hygiene, sanitation and making tips. The school offers one- and two-week courses with hands-on training behind an actual bar, plus has job placement assistance within San Diego County, as well as nationwide via the academy's placement director.
