Phoenix East Aviation in Daytona Beach, Florida, was established in 1972. It is certified as an approved pilot school by the Federal Aviation Administration. Its graduates find employment with major airlines and corporations. Phoenix East is nationally accredited and provides basic and advanced courses, as well as internships and employment assistance. It offers three programs. Professional Program I provides courses in instruments, upset training, commercial flight, multi-engine, CFI, CFII and glass cockpit training. Professional Program III is similar to Program I but puts the emphasis on multi-engine training. The ATP Program is for airline transport pilots. Students can reside in Daytona Beach, where they'll find 436 hotels and motels, apartments and condo rentals.
Illinois Aviation Academy in West Chicago, Illinois, is the only certified flight school in the state. It is a dedicated flight school that offers an array of flight training and pilot certifications. Its curriculum is based on FAA requirements and includes the private pilot, instrument rating, commercial certification, flight inspector and multi-engine course. Affordable housing is available in the area. As of 2011, rates start at $500 per month. The school does not have dormitories, but housing can be arranged in surrounding West Chicago and Saint Charles, all within close proximity to the campus. The school offers employment assistance for applicable candidates. Qualified students who graduate from the CFI Academy are offered a place within the organization as flight instructors.
Cochise College is located in Cochise County, Arizona, where it has five campuses. It was founded in 1964 and was one of the first community colleges in the state. As of 2011, it has a student body of approximately 14,000 students. It offers associate degrees, professional development and workforce training. Its professional flight program has placed its grads with all the major airlines, as well as the Federal Aviation Administration (FVA), airfreight services and corporate aviation companies. The FVA and FCC certify its programs. Its on-campus housing on its Douglas campus is within walking distance to the school's airport. It also has an avionics program at its Sierra Vista campus. Cochise also offers its students full employment assistance.
The Connecticut Flight Academy (CFA) is located at the Hartford Brainard Airport in Hartford and is affiliated with the charter company, Linear Air. At CFA, students learn about the world of professional flying for employment with commercial, corporate and charter companies. For students who complete its commercial pilot and certified flight instructor ratings, the school offers job placement assistance. It provides instructions for private pilots, commercial pilots and instrument rating. Courses include FAA Part 61 Private Pilot Training, Part 61 Instrument Pilot Training, Part 61 Commercial Pilot Training, Part 61 Multi-Engine Add-On and the Part 61 Complex Endorsement. The school does not offer housing facilities.
