Aveda Institutes That Accept FAFSA

All Aveda Institutes in the United States participate in the the federally sponsored Pell Grants Program and the Federal Family Education Loan Program. However, in order to qualify for these forms of aid, you must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Your eligibility for aid will be determined based on your financial need.
  1. Full-Time Status

    • In order to qualify for financial aid, you must enroll as a full-time student. To be considered full-time, you must register for 12 credits per semester. Aveda Institutes offer course credits for in-class instruction and for practical experience, so most of your training hours will translate to credits that you can apply towards graduation and towards your status as a full-time student to be eligible for federal financial aid.

    Institutes in the United States

    • Because federal financial aid can not be applied towards educational expenses outside of the United States, Aveda Institutes in Canada will not accept FAFSA forms. In order to qualify for aid to attend Institutes in Canada, you should contact that institute's financial aid representative to inquire about any scholarships or other aid for which you may be qualified.

    Programs of Study

    • Your eligibility for federal financial aid depends upon your enrollment as a full-time student. However, not all Aveda programs are offered full-time. Depending on the institute where you study, your desired program of study may only be offered part-time, due to lack of instructors, resources or interest in the program. The following programs are offered at most institutes for full-time study: cosmetology,

hair design, esthetics, nail technology, barbering, cutting, esthiology, spa training, massage and manicuring.

Deadlines for Submission of FAFSA Form

    • In order to qualify for federal financial aid, you must submit the FAFSA before the designated deadlines. The federal deadline for receipt of your FAFSA form (for the 2011-2012 school year) is June 30, 2011. Once you have submitted the form, you can revise it until September 15, 2011. However, your school may have an earlier deadline by which the FAFSA form must be submitted. Confirm this deadline with the institute's financial aid representative.
