Tennessee Technology Center is located in the downtown area. It offers full-time programs in many different areas including aircraft mechanics, automotive technology, assistant animal laboratory technology, building construction technology, barbering, truck driving, practical nursing, masonry and pharmacy technology. It also offers online courses through the Regents Online Campus Collaborative.
The Barber School is located a little over two miles from downtown Memphis. Its mission is to provide Barbering Arts and Sciences education to a diversity of students. It encourages students to create and achieve their own goals on a professional and personal level. It offers a 1,500-hour barber program to prepare students to pursue entry-level careers in the barbering field and receive satisfactory scores on the State Board of Barbering examination. The school provides instruction education and hands-on learning experiences in the clinic, with 30 workstations, and provides all needed barbering equipment.
Anthem Career College is situated east of the city center. Its website states the college is committed to providing students with career-focused training to enable success in a variety of business, legal and medical careers. It provides classroom instruction and learning experience in real-world work environments. The Memphis campus offers programs in business management, pharmacy technician, limited scope X-ray technician, paralegal, medical assistant and medical billing and coding.
Vatterott Career College's Appling Farms campus is situated in the eastern part of Memphis. The school's mission is to provide students with quality career training to promote competitiveness in today's global workforce. It offers diploma programs in cosmetology, wireless communication, homeland security, medical assistant, information systems security and programming and data simulation. It also offers an Associate of Occupational Studies diesel mechanic program.
Tennessee Academy of Cosmetology is located approximately 16 miles northwest of downtown Memphis. Its mission is to provide individuals with a firm cosmetology education to promote successful careers in the beauty field. It implements modern cosmetology techniques through classroom instruction and hands-on training experiences. It offers full-time and part-time programs in cosmetology, aesthetics and manicuring.
National College of Business and Technology is located south of the city in Lamar Industrial Park. It strives to provide students with the necessary resources to develop and hone professional skills to pursue successful careers in today's economy. It provides students with contemporary classrooms and enables access to computer labs, surgical technology suite and medical laboratories. It offers a variety of associate degree and diploma programs such as business administration management, health information technology, medical assisting, surgical technology, accounting office assistant, medical office specialist and supervisory management specialist.
Remington College is in the southern area of the city and its goal is to provide practical hands-on training to individuals to prepare them to pursue entry-level career opportunities. It consistently collaborates with local employers to ensure training programs are up-to-date and provide the necessary skills. It offers associate degree and diploma programs such as medical assisting, cosmetology, electronics and computer technology, criminal justice, business office management, medical billing and coding and heating, ventilation and air conditioning.
