Brooke Transportation Training Solutions is a multistate training company. The program at Brooke is an intensive, five-day program. The program covers a wide range of topics within the logistics field. Parts of the program will focus on sales, freight management and what to expect with day-to-day operations at a logistics company. The school holds classes across the country. Veterans are given financial aid. At the Friday following the five-day program, graduates can meet with a career counselor who can help network them for jobs.
ATLAS is an academic program financed by the College of Alameda, the Workforce Collaborative and the Oakland Adult and Career Education organization. The program is also back by the California Transportation and Logistics Initiative, the accreditation program for all transportation and logistics programs in California. The program is spread over an 11-week program. At this program, students can learn the basics of logistics, as well as basic training concerning machinery and forklift driving. Administration classes are also available for students who want to learn the management end of logistics. ATLAS also has courses that focus on eco-friendly measures within the logistics industry.
Florida State College has a school devoted to transportation and logistics. The School of Transportation and Logistics offers interested students two options: a certificate program classified as a Logistics and Transportation Specialist certificate or an Associates Degree in Supply Chain Management. All Supply Chain Management students take courses in the Specialist program. However, Supply Chain majors must take electives such as mathematics, humanities and general business. Specific to logistics, students will focus on warehouse and inventory management. A detailed course on transportation will focus on the economics and management of transportation vehicles and logistics. There is also a course that details how a logistics manager makes and records purchases.
Cecil College offers a academic program devoted to Transportation and Logistics. The academic program covers a range of transportation and logistic careers, including in aviation and oceanic industries. If a student is interested in commercial transportation and logistics, there is a program specific major. Interested students can major or enroll in certificate programs under Commercial Transportation or Transportation Management. In both programs, students learn the foundations of business and human resources before higher level courses in transportation and logistics are offered. Higher level courses include operations management, communication and driver management. Students can enroll in the less intensive certificate programs for each major, which only covers the higher level courses.
