How Do I Get Certified to Teach Bob Ross Methods of Painting?

Bob Ross Certified instructors are trained on Bob Ross's Wet-on-Wet Techniques popularized on his television show "The Joy of Painting." The program ran on PBS from 1983 to 1994 and afterwards on MTV in syndication. The Wet-on-Wet techniques were developed by Bob Ross while stationed with the air force in Alaska. Certifications are available for Wilderness Instructor, Landscape Instructor and Floral Instructor. Instructor training is held in either Florida or Minnesota each year.

Indicate whether you would like to take the wildlife, landscape or floral instructor certification. Each certification entails three sequential levels of study. All three courses can be taken over a three-week time period. A certificate of completion will be given at the end of each course level. A $375 entry fee is required for each course level.

Pay the $375 entry fee required for each course level you have signed on for. The Bob Ross Teaching Program will accept a $100 deposit toward each course.

Pay close attention to the instruction on the Wet-On-Wet painting technique. Practice applying the techniques on the canvas. Follow the instructor's instructions and directions. Ask questions if you don't understand to better prepare you for training others. Certification is awarded upon completion of all three levels of each course.
