    • Although it may be more difficult to get into, the Cessna Employees' Flying Club is directly related to the Cessna Aircraft Company. Founded in 1946, the Flying Club offers membership to Cessna employees and retirees and their immediate family members. The club offers computer-based ground school training as well as private pilot certification. According to the club website, you can obtain your private pilot certificate in as little as 60 flight hours if you fly with your instructor two to three times each week.

    Hesston College

    • Hesston College's Aviation Department offers associate of applied arts and sciences degrees in both aviation (flight) and air traffic control (ATC). The flight degree program includes private pilot, commercial pilot, and instrument courses. As a student, you will operate aircraft out of the Newton City-County Airport. The ATC degree program covers both general education and ATC-specific courses, and students also obtain a private pilot certification through the degree. In addition, Hesston offers private pilot, commercial pilot, instrument, flight instructor, and multi-engine certification courses for non-degree seeking students.

    Kansas State University at Salina

    • Kansas State University at Salina offers both bachelor and associate degrees for professional pilots as well as maintenance personnel. The aviation department also offers an aviation safety minor program. Within the professional pilot programs, you can obtain private, instrument, commercial, and multi-engine flight ratings.
