    • Baker College in Auburn Hills, Michigan, offers an associate of applied science degree in vascular ultrasound technology. The program carries accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs and emphasizes both academics and clinical training. Students must complete 116 quarter hours to graduate. Course topics include patient care for the imaging professional, acoustical physics, venous ultrasounds, arterial ultrasound, professional career strategies and general psychology. Upon graduation, students will have the skills and knowledge to perform vascular testing using diagnostic ultrasound in a variety of health care settings.

    Casa Loma College

    • Casa Loma College in Van Nuys, California, offers a diagnostic medical sonography certificate program that requires 21 months to complete with 125 quarter hours. Students can enroll in either a day program or an evening program that meets four days a week. Course topics include obstetrics, gynecology, abdomen and small parts, as well as introduction to ultrasound imaging, introduction to vascular ultrasound imaging and physical principles and instrumentation of ultrasound. Graduates may find work in an obstetrician or gynecologist's office, a sports therapy office or other medical settings.

    Del Mar College

    • Del Mar College is located in Corpus Christi, Texas, and offers an associate of applied science degree in diagnostic medical sonography that qualifies students for work as an ultrasound technician. The program takes 18 months to complete and covers topics such as medical terminology, ultrasound instrumentation and Doppler physics. To apply to the program, students must first gain acceptance into Del Mar College. A background check and drug testing are necessary to participate in the diagnostic medical sonography program.
