Radiologic Technology Programs Near Bremerton, Washington

Pima Medical Institute

• In addition to a two-year radiology technology certification program, Pima Medical Institute has a 48-week online radiography advanced placement track for students with prior experience seeking an associate degree in occupational science. To complete the fast track, students must provide proof for 1,928 hours of clinical experience from either a working environment or prior program coursework within the past six years. The program is ideal for military radiography graduates, technologists with a certificate, foreign program graduates and students who completed 30 credit hours in an accredited program. Pima is 10 miles east of Bremerton in west Seattle.

Bellevue College

• Bellevue College is 15 miles east of Bremerton. The radiography program starts each July, goes for eight quarters over a 23-month period, is full-time, has a selective admissions process and leads to an associate degree in radiologic technology. Students obtain more than 1,800 hours of clinical experience in addition to didactic coursework. Bellevue offers a variety of options for students interested in radiography including certificate programs in imaging specialties in CT imaging, magnetic resonance imaging and a vascular interventional program as well as a bachelor's degree in radiation and imaging sciences.

Tacoma Community College

• Fifteen miles south of Bremerton, Tacoma Community College offers a radiologic science program that leads to an associate degree. The program requires some general education and science courses prior to admission as well as completion of an eight-hour hospital job-shadowing program. The program spans over eight quarters and is considered full time with classroom training during daytime hours and 1,800 clinical hours over varied work shifts. The radiologic science program begins each fall quarter.
