Universities for Architectural Engineering

Those who study architectural engineering focus on using math and drafting to design and build architectural structures such as office buildings, houses or any public building. Many universities offer an architectural engineering curriculum. Graduates may find positions with architectural firms, construction and design companies and even the public sector.
  1. Cal Poly

    • Cal Poly, formally known as California Polytechnic State University, has an architectural engineering division that focuses on structural engineering. The school provides hands-on experience and training for architectural engineering students in a variety of labs including an experimental lab and computer lab. The computer lab teaches the use of computers in structural design and calculation while the experimental lab allows students to practice putting the designs together.

    Drexel University

    • Drexel University has a wide variety of engineering programs, including an architectural engineering degree. Students are expected to design, construct and analyze a wide variety of building projects. Seniors in the architectural engineering program are expected to create a project throughout the year that simulates working in the field and gives hands-on experience in designing the plan, making decisions regarding how the plan is put into action and researching the subject thoroughly to gain more knowledge about the specific project. These projects are done as a group of four or five.
