Many schools offer environmental technology and management programs. You begin this program by studying the foundations of the sciences behind environmental processes, and monitoring and analyzing environmental changes in the air, water, soil and plant life. Particular attention is paid to how human and natural disturbances influence the environment and what actions need to be taken to manage the destruction. Upon graduation, you will be qualified for entry-level positions at organizations such as the environmental analytical laboratory, county state and local government agencies and environmental consulting firms, among others.
A forest management degree allows you to work outdoors while researching solutions harvest programs and reseeding programs to ensure minimal waste and environmental damage. You may also study the protection of wildlife habitats. Undergraduates in forest management study the balance and cycles of the forests including tree genetics, the composition of soils, forest hydrology and biometrics.

Beginning with the exploration of basic earth and biological sciences, students then move on to study natural ecosystems as well as measuring and monitoring natural resources.
