Register for the program as far in advance as possible. Summer programs fill up especially quickly so if you wait until the last minute space may not be available. The registration process usually includes an application and registration fee.
Obtain the necessary visa and travel insurance necessary to study abroad. The study abroad program will provide you information on the types of documents you need to travel.
Set up accommodation through the study abroad program. Home stays are recommended for Spanish teachers so you are fully immersed in the culture's daily life and forced to speak Spanish at all times.
Pay the registration fees by the specified date. Most programs require payment to be made several weeks in advance. If you miss this date you may be charged an additional late fee or lose your spot in the program.
Purchase your flight to the international destination or have the study abroad program book your flight. Some programs include the airfare as part of the program fee.
