Academic Requirements Needed to Attend Apollo College

Apollo College changed its name to Carrington College in 2010. Apollo College was originally established in 1976 as a college offering programs for students planning on entering the health care field. Currently, Apollo College has 10 campuses in the Western United States and also offers online programs. Students at Apollo College work toward certificates, associate's degrees and bachelor's degrees in health-related fields.
  1. Entrance Exam

    • All programs at Apollo College require prospective students to pass an entrance exam. Each program has an individual entrance exam that tests applicants on their skills in the subjects related to the program. The passing score on the entrance exam depends on the program.

    Education

    • Applicants must be at least 16 in Arizona and Idaho, 17 in Nevada and 18 in New Mexico. However, regardless of age, all applicants must hold a high school diploma or GED. No minimum GPA is required for applying to Apollo College. SAT or ACT scores are also not required.

    Interview

    • Depending on the program to which you choose to apply, you may have to interview with a professor or the program director. You will need to demonstrate your interest in your field of choice as well as your current ability in that field.

    Additional Requirements

    • Some programs demand additional requirements of the applicant. These include background checks and drug screening. Applicants applying to the medical assisting, health care administration, nursing and pharmacy technology programs must complete a Caregiver Criminal History screening procedure.
