Attend an information session for prospective undergraduate students. Information sessions last an hour and are conducted by admission staff members. These sessions give you a chance to learn about the university, the colleges that make up the school, residential life, admissions, financial aid and more. You do not need a reservation to attend an information session. Check the Columbia website for dates and times.
Stick around after an information session for a campus tour. The tours are led by current undergraduate students and will give you a general overview of academic and student life at Columbia. Campus tours are available to prospective students, potential employees and general tourists.
Download the Architectural Walking Tour Podcast from the Columbia website and take an audio walking tour. The podcast tour is guided by New York City architectural historian Andrew Dolkart and will take you through the history of many of the buildings on campus. You can also download a PDF map off of the Columbia website to help you on your tour.
Take an engineering tour if you are considering engineering as your field of study. The engineering tour will take you through the Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science and is guided by a current engineering student. Engineering tours are available Fridays at 1 p.m., except for exceptions which you can find on the Columbia University website.
