Pick the program that is most important to you. If you are not ready to choose a major, decide on a rough area of study. For instance, if you enjoy history classes, consider history or political science as a major.
Browse to the home page of colleges in your area, or in the city or state you would like to be located. Location can play a big role in how much you enjoy your college experience. For example, many students prefer to stay close to home, while others look for areas with enjoyable weather. You won't spend all of your time in class, so choose carefully.
Find the link titled "Academics" or "Programs." This link will be on the home page of each university you visit and should be relatively easy to find.
Look for links like "Areas of Study" or "Majors" and search through all of the programs that school offers to determine if it is right for you. Browse through the school's page to look for areas in which the school may be particularly proficient. For instance, a school with a strong biology department may highlight that program in various areas of the website and the home page of a school with an especially successful art program may display student exhibits.
Apply to several colleges offering the programs that interest you to ensure the best chance of attending a college that suits you.
