How to Search for Engineering Colleges

If engineering is your chosen field of study and you're wondering where you could go to get a degree, with the Internet at your fingertips you have numerous options when it comes to searching for them. Depending on your location and what type of degree you are seeking, you can adjust your search options as desired.

Instructions

  1. College Navigator

      Select "No Preference" or choose the desired state from the "States" drop-down menu on the College Navigator Web site.

      Click on the "Select" button in the "Programs/Majors" section and select your desired Engineering program from the list of options.

      Choose the degree type you want to get from the "Level of Award" section, select the college type from the "Institution Type" section, click "More Search Options" and fill out those fields if desired. Click "Show Results" to display the Engineering colleges that match your search.

      Select your search specifics from the "Select Search Criteria" drop-down menu on the Engineering Schools Search Engine Web site.

      Click on the desired sorting option (e.g. alphabetically or by state) if prompted.

      Scroll through the list of Engineering colleges in the list that opens up, and then click on the ones that you are interested in to view information about the college and its programs.

    Peterson's College Search

      Click on the "College Search by Major" link on the Peterson's College Search Web site.

      Click on the Engineering degree type you want to earn to display a list of colleges with appropriate programs.

      Click on one of the colleges in the results to view information about the college.
