PhD Programs in Film Production

Film Production is a hands-on major that combines scholarly inquiry with practical filmmaking experience. It is different from Film Studies, which tends to emphasize theory instead of movie making. Although MFA degrees and certificate programs abound, PhD programs that boast this special combination of philosophy and practice have cropped up only recently.
