Grants for Older Adults Returning to School

Grants for older adults returning to school target individuals who have faced significant obstacles to education, women returning to school after raising children or seeking a first career and combat veterans. Older adults must remember that persistence is the most important factor in successfully funding a college education, and funding is available for nontraditional paths to education.

Applicants must be accepted to or enrolled in a technical, associates degree or first bachelor's degree program at an eligible, accredited school. The fund considers each applicant's goals, plans, challenges and financial considerations and does not discriminate based on race, religion or any other socioeconomic factor. To apply, students must submit reference letters, transcripts or an acceptance letter from their educational institution and a budget for the next year. The application also requests work and volunteer experience.
