Find out if your college or university participates with the Federal Work Study Program. You want to check with your school's financial aid office since many private colleges don't participate in the program.
Fill out a FAFSA. The FAFSA form is used by the federal government and your college to determine your eligibility for the program.
Indicate on the FAFSA that you are interested in applying for the Federal Work Study Program. This lets your financial aid office know to calculate the program into your financial aid package.
Receive your eligibility from the government. Based on your FAFSA, the financial aid office lets you know if you qualify for Federal Work Study and how many hours that you can work.
Speak to your financial aid officer about work assignments. After you have been accepted into the program, your college assigns you an on-campus job. They have to pay you at least minimum wage and accommodate your class schedule.
