How to Apply for a Pell Grant in North Carolina

The Pell Grant is an educational grant that is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education. In the 2010-2011 school year the maximum amount awarded is $5550. It never has to be repaid and the amount you collect is determined using your income information and your estimated cost of attendance at the school of your choice. If you live in North Carolina and need financial aid, check the Pell Grant website at thepell.com/state-pell-grants/north-carolina-pell-grant.shtml to see if the school you want to attend participates in the program. If you see your school listed, proceed with the application process.
