Collage Grants for Working Women

Working women that wish to begin or continue their education have various options available for them. Grants are a valuable source of financial aid that don't have to be paid back, as opposed to student loans. Depending on the field of study and professional status, there are many grants available specifically for working women, especially in the health and business fields.
  1. American Intercontinental University

    • American Intercontinental University is an online university set up for working adults that wish to maintain their jobs and further their education at the same time. A scholarship for working women entitled the Working Woman Scholarship is offered through AIU. In order to be a candidate, the woman applying must be 18 years old or older, work 20 hours per week or more and be enrolled as a student in AIU's online program working towards a bachelor's or master's degree. Two scholarships are awarded each year. The application process includes submitting a completed application, a personal essay between 300 and 750 words and a letter of recommendation from her current place of employment.

    American Association of University Women Educational Foundation

    • The American Association of University Women Educational Foundation offers Continuing Education Fellowships and Grants available to women that hold bachelor's degrees already and want to continue their education while working. Special consideration is given to women of color and women pursuing graduate degrees in nontraditional fields. The degree must be pursued at an accredited two or four-year United States educational institution.

    Paradigm Scholarship for Working Women

    • The Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce grants the Paradigm Scholarship for Working Women to candidates who would like to finish their undergraduate degrees while working for Chamber companies. The award is for up to $5,000 and it must be used for tuition, books and educational related expenses. The applicant must be a full time employee at a Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce company and working at least 30 hours per week. They must have one year of college already completed, have five years of work experience, submit a college transcript, two letters of recommendation (one of which must be from a current workplace) and a 200 word essay describing why they should receive the scholarship.
