Summit Career College offers an LVN program accredited by the Board of Vocational Nurses and Psychiatric Technicians and meets all of the standards to qualify a graduate for eligibility to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination-Vocational Nurse. You complete 72 credits to meet graduation requirements. There are full-time and part-time courses of study. The full-time course may be completed in 52 weeks, while the part-time course may be completed in 82 weeks. The Anaheim and Colton campuses offer this program. Financial aid is available to those who qualify.

NCP College of Nursing offers an LVN program approved by the Board of Vocational Nurses and Psychiatric Technicians. NCP has two campuses, Hayward and South San Francisco, and there are three matriculation dates per campus: June, July and September. Exact dates vary according to the year, so check the admissions website to get the latest information. The June and July matriculation dates are for full-time students only, while the September matriculation date is for part-time/evening students only. Admission to the LVN program requires you be at least 17 and have completed high school or the equivalent degree. You must pass the math and English placement examination with a minimum score of 60 percent, complete anatomy and physiology and general psychology with a grade of C or better within five years of submitting an application, submit criminal background and medical information and attend an on-campus interview. As of June 2010, NCP is evaluating tuition and does not offer federal financial aid, although it does offer private loans to those who qualify.

Alvin Community College offers an LVN program accredited by the Texas Board of Nursing. The duration of study for the program is 12 months, and there is only one matriculation date, which is in July. The school accepts only 50 students, and they are chosen based solely on SAT or ACT scores. As of September 2009, the total cost of attendance is $4,200, or $5,700 for students who live out of the Alvin Community College district. You must attend an informational meeting to be considered for admission. In addition, submission of an application form, immunization records and ACT or SAT scores.
