Some states and day care facilities offer employment to noncertified child care workers. However, having training and obtaining certification are assets to your employment prospects, as well as to your skills and success in becoming an effective child care worker.
Web-based training offers you the opportunity to complete most, if not all of your coursework, online. This will prepare you for work as a child care worker or child care professional. Online courses and programs give you the opportunity to obtain a CDA (Child Development Associate) certification. Many states require CDA certification for their child care workers.
A Web-based CDA certificate training program can be completed in one full calender year, according to the Child Care Education Institute, which offers online college courses, continuing education and certificate programs.
