The Requirements for CDA Child Care Training in Alabama

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the number of CDAs (Child Development Associates) is increasing in the United States, and for good reason: More parents are in the workforce and need someone trustworthy to look after their children. The national standard for obtaining a CDA is to complete 120 hours of education in the childhood development field. In Alabama, you can earn your CDA by attending a technical or community college, enrolling in online classes, or logging 120 hours at a licensed day care.

    Online Training

    • Online CDA training imposes the same requirements and offers the same curriculum as traditional college and allows for more flexibility in scheduling. Many Alabama universities and technical colleges allow you to combine online study with in-class study, if you still desire the social interaction of school.
