Douglas College in British Columbia, Canada, offers a part-time certification program in Travel and Tourism. Certificate holders can apply their education to a number of work environments including, "travel agencies, tour companies, airlines, cruise lines, hotels and many other related companies." The program takes place over six courses, and students can attend up to three courses free of charge on a trial basis. The Association of Canadian Travel Agents endorses the curriculum, and upon completion the graduate may apply for membership.

The Central Connecticut State University offers several programs well suited for those seeking careers in travel and tourism. Undergraduate degrees are available. Students can choose to major in tourism, hospitality tourism and a host of other majors indirectly related to the travel market. The school encourages students to select a minor from another branch of education to give them a rounded experience. They can, however, choose to take other geography courses linked to travel and tourism if they wish.

The George Washington University, located in Washington DC, has an entire department dedicated to tourism and hospitality management. According to their website, the department has over 35 years experience and is TedQual certified by the United Nations World Tourism Organization. The department offers the following courses: a masters in tourism administration, available through on-campus or distance learning; a bachelor of business administration, with focus on hospitality management; a five-year BBA/BTA program; and event and tourism destination educational certificate programs.
