Urban Management is used to enhance communities in economically disadvantaged areas of the world, where race, class and sex play an important role in the delivery of public services to a community. Policies developed by urban managers are designed to stimulate economic growth and social development.
Universities--including those of Buffalo and Hanoi--provide graduate certificates in Urban Management. Courses provide training in subjects including public finance, community development and neighborhood analysis.
The Engineer of Urban Management certificate provided by the University of Hanoi is taken over five years, with three groups of subject modules taken over the period. Following the completion of the modules, students must also complete a graduation thesis.
