The top five colleges for an undergraduate business degree, as ranked by "Businessweek" in 2010, are: the Mendoza College of Business at the University of Notre Dame; MacIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia; Sloan School of Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology; Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania; and Cornell University. Graduates at these universities reported high satisfaction with their education and university experience. In addition, top corporate recruiters rated these schools highly for the quality of their business graduates. The starting salaries for graduates of these programs were above the industry average.
These schools appear in the top rankings of the surveys for a full-time MBA degree: Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago; Harvard Business School; Wharton school at the University of Pennsylvnia; Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University; and Stanford Graduate School of Business. Applying for an MBA degree is a highly competitive process, and the average GMAT score of successful applicants in these programs was over 700. Tuition at each of these schools for the MBA program is at least $100,000.
Executive MBA programs cater to working professionals and part-time students. Due to the economic downturn, many students, instead of their employers, are now paying for their own EMBA program. The top five schools for the EMBA program are Kellogg School Of Management at Northwestern University; Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago; Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania; Columbia University and Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California.
These schools are consistently at the top of the rankings in each survey. Graduates of the highest ranked business schools outside the U.S., especially those with MBA degrees, can find global employment with international consulting companies. The top three international schools are INSEAD in France; Queen's School of Business in Canada; and IE Business school in Spain.
