Livescribe products let users mix written notes with audio recordings. Special Livescribe paper, often bound into a Livescribe pad, must be used to activate the features of the Livescribe pen. This paper includes tiny markings that allow the camera inside the pen to determine its location over the paper. Without the pen, a Livescribe Pad is just a fancy notebook. The features of the Livescribe pad are immediately functional with the pen, since the dots and symbols are already included on the paper.

Press the power button until the Livescribe pen turns on.

Record handwriting by writing on the paper. The pen will capture this and transmit it to your computer the next time it is docked.
