Take advanced placement courses in high school. Advanced placement courses allow you to get college credit without paying for it. Take classes in subjects such as biology and chemistry.
Decide on a program in advance. Look for an online RN program that is accredited by the state. The program should allow you to learn everything you need to know about the field of nursing. Seek out programs that have past graduates that you can talk to directly.
Sign up for classes in advance. Make sure you have all paperwork lined up before you begin classes. You may need to arrange for financial aid, contact your previous schools and speak with a guidance counselor before you can enroll in an online RN program.
Get the best possible grades in all classes. Students who do well in online RN classes may be allowed to skip over material that they already know and have demonstrated knowledge of. A student should focus as much attention as possible on their online RN classes in order to get their degree as fast as possible.
Complete your clinical education at a hospital close to your home. All student RN's are required to work with a hospital to learn actual medical procedures. Online RN candidates must complete this term as well. A student RN should arrange this term of education as early as possible, ideally before their first year of classes.
