Build on your education in physical therapy in a doctoral program at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. UNC's doctoral program may be taken full or part time; full-time students may complete the course within one year. Course work includes chronic disease and disability, advanced orthopedic assessment and intervention, advanced geriatric intervention and advanced neuromuscular intervention. Topics include health and wellness, advanced clinical practice and child and family assessment. All students complete a doctoral project, which may be a case study or educational program with an online component.
Students interested in the program must have a master's degree in physical therapy at a school accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Physical Therapy Education.
