Online Dietician Technician Associate Degrees

A degree in nutrition can lead to work as a dietetic technician. The Commission on Education for Dietetic Education (CADE) accredits some institutions that offer these degrees, leading to a career as a registered dietetic technician (DTR) once a student passes the CADE registration exam. Degrees from an accredited institution show others that the school's program is held to certain standards, which is beneficial especially if students decide to pursue further education. Several schools offer both accredited and non-accredited online associate degree programs for dietetic technicians.
  1. Community College of Allegheny County

    • The Community College of Allegheny County offers an online associate degree leading either to registration as a DTR, or to obtaining credentials as a certified dietary manager (CDM). The 72-credit, two-year program includes reduced course work in the summer. Students are expected to fulfill a minimum of 450 hours of practical on-site experience.

As an open admissions school, the college is available to all applicants with a high school diploma or GED. Prospective students can apply for admission as late as one month before the start of the semester. The college is accredited by the CADE.
