Can you use a transcript instead of diploma?

A transcript is not a replacement for a diploma. While a transcript shows the courses you took and the grades you received, the diploma is the official document certifying that you completed the requirements for a degree or certificate. Employers and other institutions generally require the diploma as proof of completion. A transcript is supporting documentation, but it's insufficient on its own.
