In the United States, a bachelor's degree in social work (BSW) typically requires the completion of 120 to 135 college credits. These credits are earned by taking courses in a variety of subjects, including social work practice, human behavior and the social environment, social welfare policy and services, and research and evaluation.
Some colleges and universities also require students to complete an internship or practicum as part of their BSW program. This hands-on experience allows students to apply their classroom learning to real-world settings and gain experience working with clients.
