Does Australian medical council recognize the degrees from Egypt?

The Australian Medical Council (AMC) is the organisation responsible for assessing the qualifications of international medical graduates (IMGs) who wish to practise medicine in Australia. The AMC recognises a range of medical degrees from different countries, including Egypt.

To be eligible for AMC assessment, IMGs must have completed a medical degree that is recognised by the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The degree must also be equivalent to the Australian Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree.

IMGs who have completed their medical training in Egypt must also provide evidence of their clinical experience, as well as their knowledge of English. The AMC may require IMGs to undertake further training or assessment before they can be registered to practise medicine in Australia.
