The University of Oxford Medical School has been teaching medicine since the 13th century. It has been ranked the No. 1 school of medicine in both The Complete University Guide 2010 and Times Online's Good University Guide 2010. In The Complete University Guide it received 100 percent under graduate prospects and an overall score of 100 percent. Times Online also gave it 100 percent in both categories. In Times Online's National Student Survey, Oxford received 88 percent.
There are three points of entry to Oxford's Medical School. The first is the pre-clinical study after A-levels or equivalent. The second stage is the clinical study after completing a pre-clinical study at either Oxford or Cambridge. The last point of entry is the graduate study, for graduates in experimental sciences.

The University of Cambridge has been teaching medicine since 1540. According to Education UK under the British Council, The University of Cambridge "is one of the most ancient and distinguished universities in the world." And while the university began teaching medicine in the 16th century, Cambridge has been a teaching institution since 1209.
The Complete University Guide 2010 and the Times Online's Good University Guide 2010 ranked the University of Cambridge School of Clinical Medicine in second place with graduate prospects of 99 percent in both rankings.

The University of Edinburgh has been ranked fourth in The Complete University Guide and third in Times Online's Good University Guide for their 2010 medical school rankings. It received 99 percent in graduate prospects from both rankings, and according to the latest RAE in 2008, 70 percent of The University of Edinburgh's research is rated "internationally excellent" or "world leading."
