Kenya Medical Training College is a behemoth of an institution. The school has 28 campuses spread throughout the country, in places as far flung as Lodwar and Garissa. Kenya Medical Training College, which operates under Kenya's Ministry of Medical Services, has established this many branches to decentralize the health care industry. The school offers diploma courses in 16 specialties that range from clinical medicine to neurophysiology technology. Higher diplomas are awarded in fields such as health and HIV/AIDS; nursing; and clinical medicine and surgery.

The Institute of Tropical Medicine and Infectious Diseases at the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology aims to address problems with tropical medicine and infectious diseases in Kenya by training students in health sciences. The school, which also conducts extensive research, offers diplomas in two areas--HIV/AIDS management, and clinical management--and a bachelor's degree in medical laboratory sciences. In addition to medical classes, students in the bachelor's program take courses such as laboratory management, ethics and law, and development studies and social ethics, in order to be completely prepared for life as a medical professional in Kenya.
